HYDERABAD: The government has issued orders appointing Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) Limited Managing Director N.V.S. Reddy, as Director on the Board of the Urban Mass Transit Company (UMTC) Limited, New Delhi.
UMTC is a joint venture between Union Ministry of Urban Development, A.P. Government, APSRTC and Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Limited (IL&FS). It is headed by the Secretary to the Union Ministry of Urban Development and has several experts in the area of urban development.
The company#39;s prime focus is on conceptualising, developing, designing and implementing sustainable urban transport initiatives in various cities. Mr. Reddy had earlier served as GHMC’s Additional Commissioner for Traffic and Transport. Principal Secretary, MA&UD, S.P. Singh, issued the order on Mr. Reddy#39;s nomination on Wednesday following a communication from O.P. Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, UMTC, to the government seeking its representative on the Board last month.
